For Comparethemarket.com, we have developed a complex analytical application measuring the speed and quality of internet connections (download/upload) and feedback (latency). The application is supported across platforms, mobile devices and web browsers. The results are calculated with an advanced algorithm and were tested on speeds exceeding 1Gbps D/U. The web application runs in the browser and uses the API interface to send measurement results. The internet speed test is furthermore used in several hundred web pages, mainly due to the easy modification of its appearance and language variations. As a part of the algorithm and measuring of the result accuracy we have developed a server interface to store and evaluate results.
